Hello?

well if you haven’t noticed I haven’t really been in a position to be blogging lately
I’ve had school, and an un-usually active social life.
I know…. pretty hard to believe right?

well, there really is nothing for me to write about, so when I do come across something terribly interesting, I’ll let you all know =).

Minimalist?

So, nothing muchh blog-wise.
Actually, I do have a little bit to talk about, but after I rant about the new theme.

So, I got sick and tired of k2’s bloughtedness and bandwidth-hogging powers. So I thought, “hmmm, I’ll take 1 more shot at creating a wordpress theme”, and voila. Recently (meaning within the last 4 or 5 months) I’ve started to show interest in very clean, minimalist designs. So… I decided to give it a shot. There is only 1 image used in the whole template, which I don’t really plan on keeping xD.

BUT, internet explorer just cannot do it justice, so I wouldn’t bother, but honestly, I hope by now you will have discovered the glory of what is firefox ;). All in all, I like it. I even managed getting the widgets to display correctly, which believe it or not, takes nearly no effort.

Ok, now, for my pathetic social life xD.
Every day this week, I seem to be running into somebody else. Luck maybe? I really don’t know. for example, on sunday I ran into a friend I haven’t seen since oh I don’t know, the 5th grade? and she practically lived next door to me for 11 months, and never said anything .

Anyways… I’m going to a show on saturday, which should be… interesting, to say the least ;). haha I will most likely upload pictures, if my phone company stops being a douch (they attempted to start charging customers for incoming text messages, and ended up screwing up their whole telephony infastructure, not like it wasn’t screwed up already, they just completely fucked the whole system this time (nobody can even make a call now, and when they have an incoming call, and they pick up, bam, it hangs up on them). .

(ps - I’m tinkering with the idea of releasing this theme as a pre-made, it seems awfully suited for that purpose, as its light-weight, perfectly suited for widgets, and most of the css tags are very generalized, and I have an overlay stylesheet, so I can write more specific css values.)

ok, just a bit of a rant before I go.. uh… shopping =)
For anybody who doesn’t feel like fussing around with wordpress themes, I  would highly reccomend K2. I know that when alot of people think K2, they think its the ugliest and clunkiest thing ever, and really, before you customize it, it pretty much is =P. I think css overlaying saved my life.

With the use of “styles” you can reasily customize the theme to a huge extent. I was able to transform this to what you see here…. oh but before this theme, it actually looked like This.

If you have a layout that you wanted to use with wordpress (lets face it, who doesn’t?) and it follows the basic header - content - sidebar principle, than chances are you can duplicate it with K2. It just requires some tinkering, and trial and error. If any of you want a base “style” to work upon, let me know, and I can create one and put it up, furthermore, if you want a detailed explanation on how to do this, I can also prepare one if desired =)

[edit] You all get a shiny new layout =). Without shock, it does not display all that pleasantly in internet explorer, but hopefully nobody is still using the ol’ rusty IE. As an added bonus, it seems to display even better than I intended it to, in Safari. Now really? Haha I have to say, I am loving apple right now, like no joke, the layout displays beautifully in safari, you can even change the size of the comment input form, while retaining the rounded borders *claps* bravo apple, bravo =). As you can tell, I haven’t slept yet, and thats what I intend to do right now. G’night. [/edit]

Blehh, the last couple of days have pretty much been utter shit xD. Infact today probably being the worst. I was rudely awoken by a spider who decided to chill on my face whilst I was sleeping, and my cat, by natural instinct, felt the need to eat the god forsaken thing and lick the spider reminents off of my face. Yum.

Today, being the worst, has also seemed to be more eventful, I got to see Asia, who I haven’t seen in 2-3 weeks, so that was fun, especially seeing as we were both just wired. Before we hung out though, my parents took my little brother and sister to aldergrove “lake” (for lack of better term… lmao) to go swimming. While they were gone, my neighbours (the mother is a total bitch) came screeching into the driveway with their music blaring. So, I kindof felt the need to pay them back the favor xD. For an hour and a half I blasted incredibly obnoxious techno music. I thought it was amazing, and so did all the other neighbors .

Oh, for those of you who are interested, I spent my sunday afternoon at the 30th anual vancouver gay pride parade . It was amazing. Needless to say I took a ton of pictures, although they’re on my phone, and incredibly blurry, and ugly, next year I will try better xD. In the mean time, you can admire these photos =).

(btw on a completely un-related topic… Does everybody use fan-update now? it seems everywhere I go, somebody else has started using it =P)

Can I just say…

I have tried countless times to write themes for wordpress, and let me tell you, If you’re like me, and you have a short attention span, and no patience, it’s damn near impossible! I’ve simply given up on it, and just gone to styling K2. So much easier. But, styling K2 isn’t all that fun either
The css values are pretty fucking stupid, but I guess it comes in handy for those folks who are down right picky about color scheming and the difference in color for their sidebars etc.

On another note… The vancouver gay pride parade starts in about 3 and a half hours, and I will be happily attending, and hey, you might get a few pictures

I remember being 8 years old, and every day going onto neopets and changing the then insanely-popular anime graphics, and the poor html and css and what have you xD.
I’m sitting here thinking to myself, wow, we’ve come a long way from that. We went from anime graphics, poorly done background images, and shitty pre-mades to what we have now.
Everywhere i look, theres quality designing and coding. People are being very original in their style, and everyone is learning how to use css to their advantage, and not making things overkill.
Now-a-days we can all appreciate something simple, yet elegant. Back then it was all dis-organized and overkill.

Uhmm, I don’t know, I was bored, so I decided to post?
Haha things really aren’t that exciting ’round here. I’ve been sitting on the computer literally all day, nearly 12 hours
Tommorow will hopefully be more eventful, it happens to be my sisters 6th birthday, and I have to stay home till about noon and watch her, as my little brother has to get a consultation from the pediatricians at children’s hospital about his autism.
Then, I’m going out, and hopefully doing something interesting, but I don’t get paid for another week, so this should be interesting
OHH! and Translink (the regional transit authority) is fucking retarded xD, they need a better way of implementing unlimited use farecards. I live in the grimmy sub-urbs (langley), and most of my “city” as it were is actually rural, so I regularly go into the downtown core, and rely on public transit to do so (Bus and skytrain [metro]). Now, our fare system is kindof a rip-off if you pay the coin fare for every boarding, so I usually tend to purchase a monthly fare card, but I soon figured out that they don’t implement it in a very fair way. The passes are only good for a set month you buy them for, and not for a whole 30 days. further more you only have till about the 5th of every month to buy them, which is terribly inconvenient if you are like me, and your payment cycles varry (I can get paid anywhere form the 3rd to the 7th).
Haha I’m sorry, I just had to bitch about that, I won’t be going downtown as much this month, as I don’t get paid till nearly 3 days after the purchase deadline

How I loath waiting for payday =(.

Mmmmm, I was just thinking back today of the past few years.
Does anybody reading know me from 2 or 3 years back per say?
Haha its hard to believe how far I’ve come since then, both online and off. I’ve grown alot, haha but with growth comes problems of its own. (I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder )
But yeah, apparently I’ve changed quiet a bit. I think that having more friends and being around more people has probably influenced me to try new things and take new risks. Some good… some not so good.

But yess, I’m done, haha The end.

Ahh summer, basically a flat out reason for us to not go to school. What I love is how everybody goes away on vacation, while I’m stuck in vancouver alone for 2 months. As if it couldn’t get any worse, but it did. My friend shaela, who happens to be a very good friend, also happens to have been born in a place called Kitimat. Kitimat is roughly 1330 Km away from Vancouver. For all you americans, thats about 835 miles.(or you could just refer to this map to get a clue as to how for away she is from me) Her family, decided to go visit. Well, they now made the decision, to leave shaela there with her grandparents. What the fuck? This absolutely sucks.

On another note, I keep on going downtown, which is generally fun =). If anyone ever comes to vancouver, make sure you do NOT take skytrain (metro) or seabus (small passenger ferry, crosses a bay) on a rainy day, it is absolutely horrible and gross. I’m looking at weather forecasts for everywhere else in the world and they’ve got it pretty good, it is currently 15 degrees Celsius, which is absolutely freezing here for “summer”. Usually, around this time its about 31-35 degrees.

Heyy guys, as you can probably tell I re-did the site. My original idea kindof bombed, so I decided to just make this a portfolio / personal blog, as if there weren’t enough floating around already

So anyways, I haven’t really been sitting on my ass all day nearly as much as I used to, I guess sitting on the computer all day has kindof lost its appeal. Don’t worry though, I’m still, and will still be around. Infact if you want to get in touch with me, send me a message on nex, I’m constantly on, so getting in touch shouldn’t be a huge hassle

I’ve also finished a couple graphic comps, and I’ll be putting them up on here within the next couple of days.

As for this layout, its kindof a thrown together sham, I originally intended for it to look like this, but I got lazy and didn’t bother trying to get it to work. *sigh* oh well, maybe next time.
